Stanley Park Residence

Working through their loss of connection to their home and the frustration, anger and despair of starting from scratch after a flood disaster, these clients became increasingly more thoughtful in their decisions and practical in the creative process, which we believe creates a purposeful and poetic solution to the design.

This house was unique for us, as the client preferred a darker moodier palette, which was a welcome change from the fresh, bright interiors that generally come out of many of our client discovery meetings. Exploring the layering of textural materials, rich fabrics and muted tones was challenging to ensure the home didn’t become melancholy or oppressive. While the clients moved in early this year, we continue to add to the space as the family rebuilds and rediscovers their new home.
