The Beltliner

Located in the Beltline district, this project pays hom- age to the history and tradition of the neighborhood and Municipal Railway’s Route No. 5 - the “belt line.” Eventually, this area developed into a regional warehouse and mercantile centre before evolving into the community it is today.

As such, the design subtly reflects this time period with reclaimed architectural salvage, natural materials and raw metals and is contrasted by the clean, streamlined aesthetic evident in a traditional diner. Much of the décor was sourced during our travels or locally found with antique dealers and collectors - these whimsical accouterments add character to the space and intentionally reflect the quirky personality of the owner.
