Eagle Point Residence

With uninterrupted views of the Rocky Mountains, the Eagle Point Residence was a large-scale renovation for homeowners who shared their time between Canmore and Calgary.

As the family grew and their adult children moved out, the clients were looking to evolve this emblematic “Canmore” home to a space that felt more sophisticated, urban and chic while still honouring the existing elements of this classic mountain home.

On the main floor, the cool grey tones of the existing natural stone fireplace and new kitchen slab were contrasted with blonde woods, navy feature cabinets and soft furnishing finished with velvets and sheepskin. The existing beams and tongue-and-groove ceiling were whitewashed to cut the yellow tones and the twisted beams in the kitchen were clad with matte black metal to clean up the lines and complement the new set of stairs. The upper floor includes a major rework that involved opening up the master bathroom ensuite with a glass wall that would capture both the light and the view of the double height space. An existing bedroom was opening up to create a listening room and refuge that allows the owners to relax in privacy off of their master bedroom.
