Residence
Tucked into the charming neighbourhood of Garrison Woods, this 2400 sq. ft. residential renovation is a love letter to slowing down. Our client spends her days in a high-powered corporate world, so she wanted her home to be the opposite of all that: relaxed, warm, romantic, and gloriously lived-in.
The vision took shape as French Country meets organic modern, thoughtfully considered with layers of earthy greens, aged woods in mixed tones, and soft, sculptural curves against clean lines. The result feels softly luxurious without ever trying too hard, like a favourite cashmere sweater you’d happily wear to a dinner party.
The details are where this home truly flirts. The powder room is a quiet showstopper, with a scalloped smokey olive glass vessel sink, turned vanity legs, and bobbin trim – vintage character without a hint of preciousness. Throughout the home, we tucked in intentional little vignettes: a music nook snuggled up to the variegated green tiled fireplace, a cozy reading chair nestled within a bay window, each one an invitation to pause and simply be. In the kitchen scallop-edge Roman shades with cheeky red trim seal the French Country deal, echoing the pops of pink and red throughout the home and keeping the neutral palette playful and alive.
Every choice, right down to the smallest bit of hardware, works like jewellery – shine mixed with matte, texture upon texture. The Garrison Woods Residence is as curated as it is comfortable: a home built for slow mornings, spinning records, and long evenings spent over wine and cheese. Exactly as it should be.
