Located in Central Alberta, this classic contemporary custom residence transports the homeowners from their prairie acreage to the city.
Luxe finishes, like natural stones, brushed brass, rift sawn white oak, textural wallcoverings and custom paneling, bring a European sensibility. Speaking to the local landscape, these elevated design details are softened with furniture and accessories that are cozy, relaxed and playful, creating a warm, inviting family home.
As business owners servicing the local community, living remotely posed some challenges as the clients wanted a home that would allow for relaxation and opportunities for play. A spa bathroom, complete with a steam shower is the perfect way to decompress after a workout at their in-home gym. An indoor pool provides a space for their children to hangout during the winter months. The main living space is fresh and bright, but textural and layered with plenty of access to natural light. In contrast, the lower floor has a moody vibe with dark paneled walls, a hip bar with backlit onyx, an oversized green velvet sectional and a separate theatre room that is clad with grass cloth paper dripping in a metallic ombre and oversized custom sofas for at home viewings.
Project Description: Full Scope/TurnkeyFull Scope/Turnkey – What does it all mean!? This indicates that our studio was involved in producing a full set of construction drawings, specifications for lighting, plumbing, hardware, finishes and materials, furniture and styling. We may have also picked out the towels, forks + that cute little vessel on the nightstand that caught your eye. The whole Sha-Bang.
