Embraced by nature in Rocky View County, Whispering Woods Residence is a love letter to the everyday spaces most people forget to make beautiful. Our clients are old souls at heart, the kind who value craftsmanship, natural materials, and things built to last. So when it came to reimagining their mudroom, laundry, and pantry, we leaned into a modern heritage aesthetic, where mid-century lines meet contemporary ease and just a whisper of the past.

The mudroom pulls its weight and then some. Craftsman-inspired cutouts in the olive-green millwork nod to heritage detailing while quietly doing the work of ventilation, paired with warm stained oak and champagne bronze hardware that catches the light just so. Across, there’s the laundry, where a deep farmhouse sink (big enough for the family dog or a load of delicates) sits beneath mid-century wall tile and a lower valance curtain, conjuring the kind of elevated “grandmother’s kitchen” charm you didn’t know you missed. Underfoot, a terracotta and taupe geometric tile grounds it all, destined to patina beautifully with every passing year.

Nestled within the adjacent pantry, the irresistible coffee nook trades the bright kitchen for something moodier and more mysterious. Drenched in deep greens, layered with floral wallpaper and multi-tonal jade tiles, it’s a cozy little hideaway where morning ritual becomes ceremony, aroma of fresh beans included.

Whispering Woods is proof that hardworking spaces can be soulful ones too, a home where tradition and modernity live in easy, enduring harmony.
